New routes announced between Edinburgh and Norway with Scandinavian Airlines

Business and leisure passengers will have more opportunities than ever to travel to Norway after Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) announced it will introduce two new services to the country from next April.

SAS will operate twice-weekly services, on a Thursday and Sunday, from Edinburgh to Oslo and Stavanger from 10 April until 05 October, increasing connectivity between Scotland and Norway and enhancing onward travel options to more destinations in northern Europe.

Gordon Dewar, Chief Executive at Edinburgh Airport, said: „Norway is an important trade and business link for Scotland and we’re delighted to be working with SAS in developing this further.

„Expanding our route network is one of our top priorities and we’re pleased to be introducing these new flights to allow Scots the opportunity to visit this beautiful country.

„Next year will be hugely exciting for Scotland. We’re looking forward to welcoming our Norwegian passengers and giving them a taste of all that Scotland has to offer in 2014.”

Hans Dyhrfort, SAS’ Regional General Manager Western Europe, commented: „We are pleased to offer new summer services direct to both Oslo and Stavanger and provide a direct flight to Norway, the fjords, and Scandinavia.

„For any business travellers wishing to travel during this period, we offer the convenience of direct flights to either Oslo or Stavanger, with onward flights to many other Norwegian destinations.”
