Exelis joins Military Spouse Employment Partnership Program; reaffirms commitment to diverse workforce recruiting

Exelis (NYSE: XLS) has been selected to become an official participant in the Military Spouse Employment Partnership Program (MSEP). The Exelis alliance with MSEP is an important strategic partnership that focuses on expanding workforce outreach to military spouses.

MSEP is a Department of Defense program dedicated to connecting military spouses to career opportunities with top-tier companies nationwide, using a variety of employment-related services, including job coaching, counseling and interview preparation. As part of the Exelis commitment to MSEP, all Exelis job openings will be posted on the program’s website.

„Military spouses often face a variety of challenges when it comes to finding employment, not due to their qualifications or training, but due to the frequent moves their service member spouse is required to make as they serve our country,” said John Procopio, senior vice president and chief human resources officer for Exelis. „Our relationship with MSEP allows Exelis to find more ways to connect with military spouses who have the talent and skills that match our diverse business needs.”

Exelis was ranked among „Top Military-Friendly Employers” by G.I. Jobs magazine in 2012, and maintains an active involvement with the military community through Exelis Action Corps, the company’s volunteer service program supporting service members, veterans and their families. As the partnership with MSEP grows, Exelis will become more involved in job fairs and community service events specifically for military.
