Another HC-130J Combat King II for Kirtland Air Force Base

Another HC-130J Combat King II takes to the skies for Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., from Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] facilities here today. Aircraft number 5706 will be assigned to the 58th Special Operations Wing of the Air Force’s Air Education and Training Command and will be used to train mission-ready aircrews. The HC-130J replaces the HC-130P/N as the only dedicated fixed-wing personnel recovery platform in the Air Force inventory. Its mission is to rapidly deploy to conduct recovery operations to include airdrop, airland, helicopter air-to-air refueling, and forward area ground refueling missions.
